Senior House Officers

There are three senior house officers who are qualified dental surgeons but who are training in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

They work under the direction of the consultants and staff grade surgeons. They undertake some of the operations and procedures including minor oral surgery. They provide some of the out of hours service.

The SHO's usually spend between 6 and 18 months in the department before moving on to other positions.
